VERTO

Immersive AV-Installation
Format: 360° Ambisonics (HOA) 2nd order spatialization, AmbiX B-Format
Duration: 28:48 min

VERTO explores how perception is shaped within complex, interdependent systems. Familiar natural scenes are digitally transformed into unrecognizable forms that resist recognition, emphasizing the tension between recognition and emergence.

The installation positions the audience within a multidimensional spatial system, where sound and image function as interdependent forces. Visual and sonic textures interact across directions, dissolving the line between hearing and seeing, and creating a field in which every element – however small – affects the perception of the whole.

Time and transformation in VERTO are not linear but are experienced as physical, relational, and cyclical: each moment arises from interactions across spatial and temporal layers, continuously shifting and reorganizing itself, emphasizing simultaneity over linear progression. Change is not only enacted but also becomes both subject and medium of the work.

By translating one-dimensional sound into immersive spatial textures and reconfiguring familiar landscapes, the work foregrounds questions of orientation, agency, and interconnectedness: How do we locate ourselves within systems that exceed our single perspective? How do individual actions ripple through complex structures?

VERTO invites a contemplative, embodied encounter with these dynamics, making the invisible architecture of relational systems perceptible and experientially tangible.
