ANTI-POSTERS

Inkjet print, 100 × 70 cm

In this series, I collaged fragments of contemporary newspaper articles that report banal or trivial matters, reflecting the neglect of more urgent social issues. The fragments were used as a subtle commentary on social issues that often receive as little public recognition as they do in the press. The collages were combined with expressionist drawings and finally printed as posters (inkjet print, 100 × 70 cm), creating a new visual and conceptual situation.

The work emerges from the overwhelming saturation of contemporary visual culture – an environment dominated by commercial imagery, self-promotion, and subliminal persuasion, intensified by the rise of social networks. In this context, the poster is typically reduced to a vehicle for capitalistic or ego-driven visibility.

My intention was to subvert this logic and reclaim these channels as instruments of critical reflection. These works function as anti-posters: interventions that highlight the difference between promotion as mere self-serving spectacle and promotion serving a specific purpose or higher good, subliminally raising public awareness. They invite viewers to reconsider the messages circulating in public space and to explore the possibilities that arise when these channels are redirected toward reflection, consciousness, and social critique.
